12:16 am: So much for my promises to post updates more often. I'm just very, very tired, discouraged, and sad these days. Friends have died, friends are sick and /or hospitalized. Brother has had another brain tumor removed. Still mourning another brother five years on. Found out one of my most favorite, special students is being beaten by her dad.Another student has been behaving in a highly sexualized manner (for a ten year old), and it's looking like he's been abused.

The world is broken, indeed. Somehow I find a way to keep getting up and trying, but I really don't have much to report. Maybe later this week.

When I'm feeling that way, I go to the park and watch children play (especially Small Person). It grounds me and reminds me that there is still innocence in this world.

I like going to a store and clearing all the shopping carts out of all the lazy-people places. It makes me feel good. But then, I'm a night owl and kids had better not be playing in the park!

You know what else is fun? talking two other adults into playing jumprope. Don't know why, but it is.

World not broken. Some studenst, not so happy - other students, golden. Husband, doggy, friends, church - all joyful loves.

(Quick message as I'm trying to play 'catch up on computer' while Bossman is in the shower. We're field-tripping to Target to get new shorts to replace the ones they cut off in the ER. You'd think they cut off some fingers, the way he's moaning and groaning about 'his favorite shorts'!)
